Filters:

Search filters, or hedges are canned or boilerplate searches appended to subject searches to narrow one’s results. Although there is no specific guidance on their use in systematic reviews, they have the potential to increase efficiency as well as introduce replication and standardization across reviews on different topics. In addition to what guidance there is, as well as some recent publications since the guidance has been released, the collection contains articles covering tools for selecting hedges, hedges to identify specific methodology, with a special emphasis on diagnostic tests. Finally there are hedges that can be used to locate specific topics which will be of interest to literature searchers working on reviews in those areas.
